"Yesterday, December 7, 1941- a date which will live in infamy- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan."
- President Franklin D. Roosevelt
Thesis:
On December 7th, 1941, the barriers separating the U.S. and the impending second World War were broken when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This surprise attack on our country claimed the lives of 2,400 Americans, damaged over 300 military vessels, and accomplished Japan’s goal of pushing the U.S. towards war. The day which will live in infamy completely changed the course of our history and the outcome of WWII as well as bolstered patriotism and support for our entrance into the war.
